Tannahill Centre, Ferguslie Park
icecream is working with the community at the Tannahill Centre in Ferguslie Park to develop their garden space as part of Creative Scotland’s Inspiring Communities project. The initial two week workshop concentrated on engaging the existing community participants and building relationships in the development of proposals for furthering the gardens plans. It also prepared the garden in the run up to the Gala Day.
Together, Icecream and the community conducted a willow workshop; producing a live willow tunnel that will begin to grow in Spring and a new opening in the hedge that will encourage visitors into the garden. We also produced two willow heads (Fergus and Lee) that were the mascots for the Gala Day Parade and willow baskets for planting.
The workshop and Gala Day succeeded in bringing many groups together and aroused opinions and plans for the use of the future garden development.
