Shelter Workshop, Riverside Museum
icecream initiated and delivered ‘Shelter Workshop’ at the new Riverside Museum in Glasgow to eager crowds of participants over two sweltering summer days.
The main aim of the workshop was the encouragement of fun and interaction for every age group, with participants forming alliances and building shelters, villages and mini communities. We used natural materials that enlivened the stark expanse of Zaha Hadid’s nod to industrial Glasgow. With straw bales, willow branches, hessian and bamboo the mini communities developed roads, houses, huts, ships, castles, dens, furniture, booby-traps, gardens, pets and a giant weetabix domino line! Thanks to everyone for working together and giving us a great two days of built enjoyment.
