icecream have been shortlisted for the Merchant City Public Art Fence Project from a highly competitive list of architects and public artists.  Our proposal, on which we collaborated with our good friends Pidgin Perfect; centred around an interactive series of community designed installations.  The ‘living fence’ promoted relationships and interactions through a variety of uses; a swappe shop shelf that allowed locals to exchange their goods in reminiscence of the barter of bygone eras;  a space for excess fruit and veg from the nearby allotments to be offered;   covered seating that afforded protection from Glasgows unpredictable showers and an alter to celebrate a transient public art created by passers by.
