In its bid to bring architecture to the masses, icecream organises and implements a variety of workshop-style events to encourage an interaction with the profession on a sociable and forthcoming basis. Each workshop is individually tailored to target the specific audience and geared towards involving them in discussion and activity based programmes related to design, building and architecture.
Our icecream van can act as the hub for our workshops. It presents a customised space for meetings, discussions and small scale exhibitions and presentations. With additional space available, the van expands into a ‘living room’ space to create a comfortable environment to which we welcome an easy-going, approachable and interactive relationship. Icecream’s ethos to deliver architecture everywhere ensures that no matter what the venue, there is room and space for a workshop.
Resources and materials are devised and produced to increase the experience and gain from the workshop, and participants are persuaded to follow up their further queries through the contact made with icecream after the events.
There is an emphasis on locality and the rural or urban environment of particular interest to each event. Icecream is committed to environmental mediums and the demonstration of sustainable measures for educational purposes. Awareness of the grant funding and modern construction technologies available is part of our informative role, but above all; the promotion of our candidates creativity is key to our aims, enticing young and old to become more than just an observer in the event.
